The city of Nice

Nice, the fifth city of France, counts about 350,000 inhabitants and is the capital of Alps Maritimes region, located in the southeastern part of the country. The region has the privilege of the very mild Mediterranean climate (seaside and almost 300 sunny days/year) and benefits also from the vicinity of the southern Alps (mountains of around 2500m), which makes it the most visited region of France. The university of Nice is the second of France as number of students (for more details on its history click here) and the city is also full of history as it knew the domination of Greeks and Romans in ancient times and found itself at the crossroads of different Mediterranean cultures (click here for more details).
